About

A history of
construction excellence
in the Baltimore area.

Since 1992, A.R. Marani, Inc. has built upon multiple areas of expertise and a vast level of experience in the industry.

Our firm has established an excellent reputation for outstanding workmanship, scheduling, maintaining a cost budget, and cooperation with owners and architects. We have won craftsmanship awards for one or more of our projects in almost every year we have been in operation. In 2007, ARM was selected as Contractor of the Year by the Baltimore chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The Principals at ARM have a fundamental knowledge of construction that can be acquired only through years of on-the-job field and office experience, and we look for the same experience in our project managers and superintendents. This translates into well-constructed, long-lived buildings that reflect our commitment to excellence in our chosen craft.

We wish to express our deep appreciation for your exceptional work renovating our space. We felt informed and included throughout the process, and we were impressed that everything was completed within the planned time frame. We love the results!

From pricing to punch list, I can’t emphasize enough how pleased we are to have worked with A.R.Marani on this latest and largest project.

— Doug Lagarde

A.R.Marani construction has been a pleasure with which to work. Throughout our 17-year relationship, they have always been fair, responsive and professional in their business practices. The on-site staff, both leadership and trade, have always been respectful of the unique issues of working on a campus around kids.

— Doug Lagarde

A.R.Marani was an excellent contractor – they were both on time and on budget for both projects…we will be building another food & beverage outlet in BWI early this year and I am using them.

— Paul Saraiva

Marani completed this project with a great sense of ownership and attention to every detail. The end result is spectacular…

— Bonnie Hearn

…consistently brought the skill, professionalism, experience and the personal touch to our working environment. The formula of their personal attention and straightforward communication regarding the work throughout the process has been dependable and greatly appreciated.

— Mark Cohagan

Each phase of our project has affirmed their punctual, responsive and team approach all while integrating their services into our school mission. They had gone well above and beyond developing and explaining complex elements in design, planning and execution which has alleviated project anxiety and stress.

— Mark Cohagan

…during a successful eight month restoration of our Historic Rectory, the Marani team made this process a pleasure because of their excellent communication, expertise, integrity, and attention to details.

— Rev. Mary Luck Stanley

The quality of the finished work surpassed all of our expectations. A.R. Marani worked very hard to deliver a project of the highest quality and standards in a very competent and professional manner.

— Uzo Nkem-Mmekam

History

A.R. Marani, Inc. (ARM) was incorporated in 1992 and is owned by Alan and Andrew Marani. They have worked in construction all their lives, cutting lawns on construction sites in their early teens, sweeping floors, working as laborers and carpenters, superintendents and project managers, and finally becoming principals in ARM. Alan attended the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and Virginia Tech, graduating with a civil engineering degree. Andrew attended the University of Maryland, studying electrical engineering before leaving to work full time in construction.

Our first construction job as ARM was in 1992, when we renovated a building at 7122 Harford Road that became our office. We moved into the basement and leased out the other two floors. In our second year, we built projects valued at approximately $3 million. As our volume increased, we added personnel in the office and field, outgrew our space and took over our building’s second floor. By 2000, our volume was over $15 million and, needing more space, we renovated and moved to our current location at 7500 Harford Road. Since 1992, ARM has grown to include twelve office personnel (principals, project managers and support staff), ten superintendents and five field employees (carpenters, helpers & laborers). Currently our yearly volume runs between $22 and $25 million.
