A.R. Marani, Inc. is a General Contractor and Construction Management Firm offering services including pre-construction, constructability review, value engineering and scheduling.

Our projects range from $10,000 small renovations for current clients to a new educational center for Severn School worth over $15 million. Schools and religious institutions make up 40 to 60 percent of our annual volume and we have become very skilled at these types of projects. Most of our projects are in occupied buildings or on occupied campuses.

Our experience includes new construction and renovation of educational, religious, medical, laboratory, retail, historic buildings, restaurants and other commercial facilities. We also work regularly within the secure areas of BWI Airport on restaurant and retail projects. All of our project managers have field experience, giving them an understanding of construction that is impossible to achieve in any other way.

Our Advantages

Budgeting

During the design phase, ARM helps the project team develop a budget to construct an efficient, cost-effective and long-lived building that meets the owner’s program and the architect’s vision. We create budgets that reflect what is—and is not— shown on early plans.

Constructability

We review site plans; structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs; architectural details; and material lists for constructability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness, often coming back to the project team with suggestions for improvements.

Value Engineering

Each of our project managers has extensive experience on and off job sites. This experience enables us to find viable design solutions that save money and time. Our highly qualified subcontractors also regularly review early plans and suggest alternate systems to reduce costs.

Scheduling

Normally our project managers create the CPM schedule, which gives them an in-depth understanding of the project and the sequence of construction that is impossible to obtain in any other way. If necessary, we add a highly skilled construction scheduling company to the project team.

Construction

This is the reason we exist. The ARM team loves to build and renovate buildings. Our goal is to create the best building we can for the owner, on time and within the available budget.

Self Performance

Most of the work on a project is performed by a carefully selected cadre of subcontractors. Occasionally, it costs an owner less for ARM personnel to perform parts of the work. In addition, when some section of a project requires particularly careful coordination, it is often more efficient and effective for our personnel to perform selected tasks. We can self-perform work in demolition, concrete, carpentry and other divisions.

Safety

All ARM personnel are required to complete the OSHA 10-hour safety training and all superintendents are required to complete the OSHA 30-hour safety training. We hold a Diamond rating—the highest safety rating—from Associated Builders & Contractors. Only five other contractors from Baltimore and the surrounding counties have achieved this level. All Accidents are Preventable.
