Overview:
A.R. Marani, Inc. has been working at BWI Airport for over 12 years. We were contacted by The Firkin Group to construct their new urban themed Mexican restaurant at BWI. Our previous restaurant experience at BWI provided Firkin with all the information they needed to select us as their contractor. A previous airline lounge of 2,850 sf tenant space on D Pier was chosen for the restaurant location. ARM assisted with Value engineering, design details and equipment selections.
Material, equipment and casework were very specialized for this restaurant. Firkin and the architect selected items from manufacturers located throughout the Country such as Montana, Texas and California.
ARM worked closely with these manufacturers to ensure that the various items were fabricated to be able to be transported by truck and to be able to be moved throughout the airport to the tenant space.
Numerous changes were made during the construction period. Since this was a new theme for the owner, some design details could not be envisioned by Firkin until the various parts of the restaurant were constructed. ARM was able to accommodate these changes and maintain the budget and schedule.
