Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

Timonium/Belair Road

Overview:

We constructed a Krispy Kreme commissary within a St. John Properties flex building.
The project consisted of a small office area with a break room and sanitary facilities, with a centralized kitchen and warehouse space on either side. One side the warehouse area is set up to receive Semi trucks with palletized material. The entire area is forklift accessible with dry storage shelving for the baking ingredients.

The centralized kitchen/production area has epoxy flooring, FRP wall panels and vinyl rock suspended ceiling. The existing concrete floor in the kitchen area was removed to install plumbing piping, and to provide a sloped floor to 2 linear trench drains that allowed for quick clean up. The production facility was initially installed with one line of equipment but was set up to allow the expansion of an additional line in the future without any major alterations to the space.

On the other side of the kitchen is the warehouse area the stored finished products on movable carts to be easily transferred to the delivery vans.

The landlord prevented us from installing a grease interceptor outside in the parking lot so we were able to install an underground internal grease interceptor with specialized exterior connections to pump the tanks remotely and not interfere with the business operation.
